I am a native speaker of Russian, born and raised in Siberia. I moved to the U.S. in 2005. Since then I've worked for the Department of Defense training military linguists and preparing for DLPT and OPI. Currently, I am a Russian summer program coordinator at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies, Monterey, CA ? a global partner of the United Nations and the Peace Corps. There I teach future diplomats, ambassadors, policy makers and language researchers.

Vita is so, so nice, this is only my second lesson but I feel like I have learned a lot with her. She's patient, kind, encouraging, and doesn't make me feel stupid or discouraged when I answer incorrectly. She's an excellent tutor and I highly recommend her to anyone wanting to learn Russian!!

I am learning Russian with Vita and am very pleased with her skills as a tutor. She has been adept in finding how best to present the material to me to help me progress at a good rate. My wife is Russian and she is very pleased with my progress.

She is a very patient, friendly teacher. I am learning Russian just for fun but she is definitely helping me reach my goals. I love taking her lessons.

Wyzant sends me an email asking me to rate my tutor after every lesson. However I thought it best to experience a number of lessons before formulating an opinion and writing a review. I've had about 5-6 Russian lessons with Vita now and would highly recommend her to anyone. I'm a "math and science type" so I like to learn the grammar terms and rules. It's rare for a native speaker to have full knowledge of the grammar terms and systems for their language, for instance I'm a native English speaker and couldn't tell you when I'm using perfect past tense or regular past tense. However, Vita knows all the terms and all the rules and is great at explaining them in a way that is easy to understand. The lessons are tailored and Vita has had a wealth of material for every subject we've covered so far. When I wanted to spend time practicing the pronunciation of hard and soft consonants she had material available for the lesson and also tools that I could use to practice in my own time. When I couldn't think of what part of Russian I wanted or needed to practice next, Vita was ready with a lesson plan. My wife, who is Russian, has noticed the difference in my skill level since I began the lessons. The lessons are fun and I always look forward to the next one. Finally I was a little hesitant at first regarding taking lesson online. But the wyzant website has good tools and the online lessons work very well.
