How To Have A Christmas-y Finals Week
In the blink of an eye, Thanksgiving has come and gone. We now greet December with excitement as we impatiently count down the days until Christmas. Pumpkins and turkeys are replaced with snowmen and candy canes while wreaths and Christmas trees find their place in people’s homes. Stores are overwhelmed with the hustle and bustle of Christmas shopping as people of all ages fill up their wish lists. It’s the happiest time of the year, yet one thing still stands in the way of all this holiday cheer: finals.
Although the Christmas season has arrived, we college students have one last obstacle before us. Ten weeks have passed and after countless hours of studying, we too must pass (our classes, that is). With papers to write and exams to prepare for, it’s definitely not that easy to get into the holiday spirit. So, here are a couple of ways to stay positive and make your finals week a little more Christmas-y.
1. Decorate, decorate, decorate
Take a well-deserved study break and have a secret Santa gift exchange with your roommates, housemates, and/or friends. Passing those classes are a top priority but having some fun to relax once in a while is important too.
3. Have a Christmas playlist
If you’re like me, you need to listen to music while you study. Why not trade your usual playlists for some Christmas albums? Or just have the songs playing in the background as you get ready in the mornings or on the radio in the car. You can’t go wrong with Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You.” Come on, it’s a classic.
4. Trim the tree
Everyone knows that a Christmas tree is a must for the holiday season. Being on a college student’s budget, having a tree can be a challenge but don’t fret. No room or money for a tree? Check out some of these awesome DIY ways to make your own tree, like this one, here.
Finals week is stressful, I know. Always focus on your studies but remember, don’t let those finals turn you into a grinch.
